Training Welcome

Georgia Tech Counseling Center Training Program

Thank you for your interest in the Georgia Tech Counseling Center's APA accredited training program. As an agency, we see our trainees as central to the vitality and quality of our organization, and we are invite you to consider applying to be a post-doctoral fellowship, doctoral intern, or practicum student in our center.

Our internship, in particular, is designed to provide training in functional skill areas relevant to work in a university counseling center including individual and group counseling, outreach and consultation, assessment and testing, outreach, and supervision of practicum counselors. In accordance with APA and IACS accreditation, we provide a diverse range of training opportunities in each of these functional areas, and work with trainees to enhance their training in areas of specific interest. At the core of our training program is a collaborative model which allows each intern to have intensive training from a direct supervisor as well as regular contact with all members of the clinical staff who have a wide range of training backgrounds, theoretical orientation, and social identities.

We hope our training program materials are useful and that you find them to be comprehensive. If you decide to apply for doctoral internship with us, please know that all of the required application materials are included in the APPI On-line, and we no additional materials are required. While we follow all notification guidelines established by APPIC (Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers), feel free to call or e-mail us with questions or concerns regarding our training opportunities.
